This from police Chief Inspector Ann Hughes, via councillor Martin Rhodes:
Over the last few days we have had 5 incidences of bogus callers across Maryhill, Kelvin and Canal multi member wards. This has primarily been in Ashgill Road, Skirsa Court, Balmartin Road and today in Broadholm Street. Please be assured that we are taking this very seriously and have additional patrols being undertaken in this area in an effort to catch this individual.
I would be obliged if you have any community meetings in these areas that you advise people of the presence of bogus callers in the area and remind constituents not to allow anyone into their home that they do not know and are not expecting. If they have a door chain keep it on, do not open the door; do not let the person into their home and call the police.
