ENCLOSED FOOTBALL PITCH, CLEVEDEN SECONDARY SCHOOL

Historically, there has been an agreement between the school and local residents that this pitch may be used outwith school hours by the local community. The hours that were agreed for permitted use were, in our opinion, very generous on behalf of the local residents – between 9.00am and 10.00pm.

Those of who who have passed the school when the pitch is in use will be aware that the constant crashing of the ball against the fencing can be quite loud and annoying. Imagine having to put up with this all day and every day !

There is now a notice on the gates to the pitch which reminds everyone of the hours pf permitted use.

We would therefore ask everyone to respect this – and just take a moment to think of the neighbours who are constantly being woken up at 6.00 and 7.00 in the morning by the crashing of the ball and gatherings of “players.”

The facility is a wonderful opportunity for people to exercise and play sport – but as with so many great community initiatives, it is in danger of suffering from the activities of those who do not consider that the rules apply to them.
