planning system

Have you had experience (good or bad) of the planning system? If you have, the charity Planning Democracy wants to hear from you.  How well does the system work? How easy is it to understand planning issues and to influence what gets built in your local area?

Planning Democracy are looking for different people’s experiences of the planning system to help them to campaign for better public involvement in planning. Their website is at www.planningdemocracy.org.uk

Glasgow’s open spaces

Glasgow City Council is consulting on its strategy for how to develop Glasgow’s many open spaces, and you can contribute your opinions on this until 12 December.

The basic principles are on some nifty postcards here: Summary Postcards (the actual postcards have spaces on the back from comments, and you just post them back to the council – the online ones have a form at the end), and the full document is here: Glasgow Open Space Strategy.

More details here on the Glasgow website.

An opportunity for senior citizens in our City to come together and show the world that they are a vital part of the community. Whether you have danced before or have never danced a step in your life – WE NEED YOU! If you or your group/club would like to get involved please contact Dance House on 0141 552 2442 quoting ‘STILL DANCING’. In partnership with Glasgow Life, Dance House is involved in delivering a dance performance project called STILL DANCING.

This project is for the over 60s and will culminate in a performance for the opening ceremony of the World Congress on Active Ageing to be held at the SECC in August 2012.

We are presently wishing to ‘recruit’ new participants and encourage them to be involved in this exciting, innovative and challenging project. With this in mind, Norman Douglas – the STILL DANCING choreographer will be in Glasgow from 26th October until 2nd November.  During this time Norman will be offering dance/movement sessions to any groups who may be interested in having a dance experience and learning more about STILL DANCING.

If you could identify any groups within the City that would be interested in having Norman visit them in their community centre, please could you ask them to get in touch with Sheila McCubbin at Dance House.  0141 552 2442   sheila@dancehouse.org
